Sinful Delight

Poison, an angel of death, has her orders – straight from Michael the Archangel.  Bring back an evil board and a woman who has been using it to grant wishes.  Michael wants the woman dead. She has less than two hours to achieve Michael’s goal.  Poison failed her last assignment when she became ill and no angel of death would work with her.  This is her chance to show Michael she is worthy of being an angel of death.  He warns Poison not to fall into temptation and watch out for demons before she leaves for her assignment.  Poison can detect demons by their foul smell, but then she becomes violently ill.  She is confused by Michael’s warning, but then she meets a man dressed like a pirate at the woman’s Halloween party.  She is immediately drawn to him and believes he is a human until he confronts her with a scandalous request.

Ringmaster remembers Poison from the night an ocean liner sank.  He met her at an assignment where he, another demon and his boss, Balthasar, were there to escort souls to hell, but Poison and two other angels of death arrive to take the souls to heaven.  He immediately wanted her.  He did not understand the attraction, but he’d never forgotten her.  Balthasar casts a spell and Poison became ill. He wanted to kill Balthasar, but leaves.  A year later, Balthasar sent him to the Halloween party to retrieve the Spell Board he invented and bring back the woman using it.  At seeing Poison, he decides to make a deal and fulfill his goal of fulfilling his dreams of sampling an angel of death.  He makes Poison an offer – sleep with him and she can have both.

Scythe tracks his demon brother to Serenity House, a drug and alcohol treatment center.  His brother wants to destroy the director, Heather Bowen, but Scythe is shocked to discover she is his angel-mate and now, he must not only save his brother’s soul, but stop him from killing the woman he loves.
